Famed California chef and restaurateur Michael Chiarello passed away at the age of 61 on Friday. Chiarello had been treated for “an acute allergic reaction that led to anaphylactic shock” at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California, where he was surrounded by family and friends, according to a statement released by his restaurant group, Gruppo Chiarello.
