Luke Combs Announces “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour” Stadium Shows
August 15, 2023 – Country music superstar Luke Combs has announced his highly anticipated “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour,” featuring 25 stadium shows across the United States in 2024. Combs, the two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, will be performing at Paycor Stadium on August 2 and August 3, 2024.
A Unique Experience for Fans
Combs revealed that each show on the tour will have its own unique set of openers and a distinct setlist. He wanted to give fans the opportunity to attend both nights and experience two completely different shows. With country music being such a diverse genre, Combs aimed to showcase different styles of country music on different nights. Friday nights will lean towards Outlaw, Americana, and Red Dirt, while Saturdays will feature more contemporary country acts.
Implications for the Country Music Landscape
Combs’ decision to curate diverse lineups for his tour reflects the evolving landscape of country music. Traditionally, country music has been associated with certain sound and themes. However, in recent years, there has been a surge in artists blending different genres and incorporating a wider range of influences into their music. This broadening of the genre’s boundaries has resulted in a more inclusive and diverse country music community.
Combs’ tour, with its Friday night lineup embracing Outlaw, Americana, and Red Dirt, represents a nod to the roots of country music and pays homage to the artists who paved the way. By featuring more contemporary country acts on Saturdays, Combs acknowledges the current direction of the genre and showcases the exciting diversity within the country music scene today.
