On Sunday, August 29, a private plane veered off its path and flew hundreds of miles, leading to the scramble of six F-16 jets from three locations. Some reports indicate that the plane underwent a rapid, spiraling descent, dropping at a rate of more than 30,000 feet per minute before slamming into the remote wilderness near the George Washington National Forest. According to the Cessna’s owner, his “entire family,” including his daughter, grandson, and nanny, was on board the plane. The FAA has expressed intentions to investigate further into the incident.
