Diablo IV Launch: Early Access Start Time and Launch Date
Diablo IV is having more of a launch week than a launch day; here’s when you can actually play. At long last, the official Diablo IV launch time is coming, and if you’ve pre-ordered the deluxe or ultimate edition, the early access start time is today.
Early Access Start Time
The Diablo IV launch is split into several days of “early access” for players who have pre-ordered, followed by the official global launch on June 6. To get the four days of early access to Diablo IV, you’ll need to have pre-ordered either the Digital Deluxe or the Ultimate edition on Battle.net.
Diablo IV early access begins on June 1 in the Americas, which will be June 2 in all other time zones. To give you an idea of when you can start playing, here are some of the early access start times for different time zones:
- 4 pm, June 1 (PDT)
- 7 pm, June 1 (EDT)
- 12 am, June 2 (BST)
- 1 am, June 2 (CEST)
- 9 am, June 2 (AEST)
Official Launch Time
The official launch of Diablo IV is on June 5 in the Americas and June 6 elsewhere. Here’s when Diablo IV’s global launch time hits in time zones around the world:
- 4 pm, June 5 (PDT)

Preloading Time
For PC players, you’ll be able to begin downloading Diablo IV through your Battle.net app just like with the betas. Find Diablo IV in the left sidebar of your app and hit the big blue “Install” button.
Diablo IV preloading begins on May 30. To give you an idea of when you can begin preloading Diablo IV, here are some of the preloading times for different time zones:
- 4 pm, May 30 (PDT)
- 7 pm, May 30 (EDT)
- 12 am, May 31 (BST)
- 1 am, May 31 (CEST)
- 9 am, May 31 (AEST)
If you want to download Diablo IV faster, deselect the “high-resolution assets” option during installation, which reduces the total download from about 84.4 GB to about 46.8 GB. If you want to start playing quickly or just don’t want Diablo IV to make your computer run hot, we recommend sticking to the regular resolution assets.
Philosophical Discussion: Are These Early Access Launches Worth It?
The concept of early access is somewhat controversial because it effectively creates class divisions among players, with some paying more to gain early access while others have to wait for the global launch. Furthermore, early access games are often incomplete, buggy, and prone to crashes, making it frustrating and risky for players who have paid extra.
On the other hand, early access can benefit game developers by providing them with feedback and helping them identify bugs and issues early on in the process, allowing them to fix the problems before the global launch. Additionally, early access can build hype and help secure additional pre-orders.
However, it’s important to remember that early access should not be used as an excuse for releasing unfinished or subpar games, nor should companies be allowed to take advantage of consumers by charging more for access to games that aren’t ready for launch. Ultimately, it’s up to consumers to decide whether the benefits of early access outweigh the risks and costs.
Editorial: What to Expect from Diablo IV
Diablo IV is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, and it’s easy to see why. Fans of the series have been waiting for a new Diablo game for a long time, and Diablo IV promises to deliver a dark, immersive, and challenging experience.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, Diablo IV looks like it will be a blend of classic Diablo gameplay and modern improvements. For example, the game features an open-world environment, which is a departure from the linear dungeons of previous Diablo games. Additionally, Diablo IV features a new skill system that allows players to customize their characters in a more versatile way than before.
But while Diablo IV promises to be a great game, it’s important to keep expectations realistic. Diablo IV is not a miracle cure for all the problems in the world, and it’s unlikely to be the perfect game that everyone has been waiting for. However, if you approach Diablo IV with an open mind and a willingness to immerse yourself in its world, you’re sure to have a great time.
