Review of the Top 5 Moments from the ‘Ted Lasso’ Finale
The third season of the beloved series ‘Ted Lasso’ had its ups and downs, but despite that, the final episode streaming on Apple TV+ left the viewers with some great moments. These moments reminded us of why we fell in love with the show in the first place. This article contains spoilers.
A Song for the Coach
The first memorable moment from the finale was Richmond AFC’s performance of “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music, which reminded us of the team’s previous performance of “Bye Bye Bye”. The charm of the musical number was enhanced by the surprise appearance of the team members’ heads popping out and joining in the performance. Even though some viewers would have liked more dancing from Jamie (Phil Dunster), it was a delightful moment, especially with Roy mouthing along.
Roy Asks to Become a Diamond Dog
When Roy asked, “Can I be a Diamond Dog?”, it was a satisfying moment, and the Diamond Dogs 2.0, now including Trent Crimm, were shocked and flattered. Roy’s growth was evident by his willingness to ask to be a part of the group. It was a reminder of the simplicity of wanting to be someone’s friend.
Rebecca Asks Ted to Stay
Ted and Rebecca have an emotional intimacy that is not romantic, and the scene where Rebecca asks Ted to stay is indicative of their complicated friendship. Though it was unreasonable to suggest Ted’s family move continents, Rebecca had to try. The scene also gave the episode an opportunity to emphasize the significance of the stadium seats from the show’s opening credits.
The Team Reassembles the Sign
The team reassembling the “BELIEVE” sign was a charming moment. Even though it’s corny, it works because it’s a great representation of how the team has wholeheartedly embraced Ted’s coaching philosophy and how they can carry on without him. The scene also reminded us of the power of believing in ourselves and each other.
Jamie Passes the Ball
Jamie Tartt had a satisfying character arc, characterized by his growth in friendship, teamwork, and balancing his on-field skills with being a team player. By passing the ball to Dani for a penalty, he effectively demonstrated his ability to be a star player while also being a supportive teammate.
Editorial and Advice
The final episode of ‘Ted Lasso’ may have left some viewers with unanswered questions, but the show’s charm was still evident. The show’s central themes of friendship and camaraderie fit the current times, where we need to help each other more than ever.
Furthermore, it is essential to understand the significance of Silver Linings, i.e., looking at the positives in a difficult situation. Even though we may face harsh realities, it’s through our relationships, both new and old, and the support we offer each other that we can find the way forward.
In conclusion,
The ‘Ted Lasso’ finale was not perfect, but it still had its great moments. The show’s themes and how they reflect our current reality, and the power of friendship and believing in ourselves and each other, are essential for us to manage ourselves in challenging times. Even if the show doesn’t return, it leaves us with a timeless message of positivity and belief, which we can carry on in our lives.
