On Tuesday evenings from May 23 to June 27, the Adams Morgan Movie Nights series will feature favorites like “This is Spinal Tap” (May 23), “Bridesmaids” (June 20), and “Shrek” (June 27). The free screenings are held at the Marie Reed Elementary School Soccer Field at sunset, which is around 9pm. Visitors can also grab discounted meals from local restaurants including Duplex Diner’s $10 burger or Yerevan Cafe’s $12 snack pack.
Cinematery at the Congressional Cemetery
The Congressional Cemetery is bringing back its iconic movie nights with a twist – this summer, all four movies screened on cemetery grounds will be Tim Burton films. Guests can catch “Alice in Wonderland” (June 2) and “Dark Shadows” (September 1) on first Fridays of June through September. Reservations are required, and a suggested donation of $10 is encouraged. Moviegoers can bring their own chairs and blankets and are also allowed to bring food and drinks, including alcohol.
Sunset Cinema at The Wharf
Every Thursday, from June 1 to September 31, The Wharf’s Transit Pier will host a free movie series. The movie screenings start at 7:30 pm, and seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Visitors can bring their own food or head to the Cantina Bambina concession window for snacks and beverages.
