The dominance of Red Bull in the season has been impressive, and the critics are already complaining about the lack of excitement in the races. However, Verstappen’s win from ninth on the grid was an exceptional display of his driving skills. He swiftly moved up the field, taking advantage of his car’s pace and his strategic driving to reach second place by lap 15. Although he lost his lead during the pit stop, he was able to regain the lead and hold it to the end, securing his fifth podium of the season.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner praised Verstappen for his impressive race and for racing cleanly with his teammate, Perez. “Well done, Max. That was a mighty middle stint, really impressive on the hard tire, and thanks for racing cleanly with your teammate,” he said. This clean racing between the two drivers is a testament to the Red Bull team’s sporting spirit, as they have allowed both drivers to compete fairly for the championship.
Despite Red Bull’s impressive form, Mercedes’ George Russell was able to finish fourth. However, his opinion about the pre-race show was shared by other drivers, as it was deemed too distracting. The drivers’ association president, Russell, expressed his displeasure at the pre-race show, stating that it was not necessary for the drivers who are present to race and not make a spectacle of themselves.
In conclusion, Red Bull’s dominance this season is unrelenting, with Verstappen extending his lead in the championship. While the pre-race show was found to be distracting for some drivers, Formula One fans can appreciate the exceptional quality of driving demonstrated by Verstappen and Perez in Miami. With the championship still open, we look forward to more exciting races as the season progresses.
